Quite often one can take in the natural beauty of the Scarlet Red Macaw here in the Central Pacific zone of Costa Rica. Viewing Macaws here is as easy as sitting on the lawn outfront and watching them come visit the tropical almond trees by the beach. These birds love to eat the almond nuts, chipping out big chunks of the hard fruit to pick out its meal. Usually, they are found flying in pairs and sometimes, one can see them in larger groups.
